• On Wednesday morning, March 3, the Cleveland Jewish News posted an article on www.clevelandjewishnews.com about U.S. Senate candidate Rob Portman’s appearance before a group that referred to lawmakers as “Nazis” in a post on the group’s website. A typographical error in the CJN headline inferred Portman had a Nazi “past” rather than referring to a Nazi “post.” The CJN corrected the error as soon as it was discovered less than a few hours later. The article itself was a fair and balanced report on Democrats calling for Portman to sever ties with the group, and Portman’s campaign condemning the group’s comments. The CJN regrets any confusion caused by its error.
