I had a chance to catch up with Rob Portman at Red White and Boom tonight after he had walked in the parade.  He was gracious enough to agree to give me an update and talk about his campaign for the US Senate so far.

  • I give you credit for risking your Flip cam among that massive mob of people. Not sure what he could have said, but the lack of substance always bores me.

And who cares about Republican establishment endorsements? Not that it is a good or bad thing, but someone really can't be more of a Republican insider than Portman. Rob has Petro's former campaign manager, who is a good guy, but that Party endorsement stuff was only brought up in a serious, vicious 2006 primary and ultimately worked to Jim's disadvantage. But Portman, just like Kasich, probably should act like there isn't even a primary.
