Seth Bringman & ODP: these are not the droids you are looking for
Want proof that the Democrats have run out of intelligent answers? Look no further than their reaction to the DeWine poll numbers. The Plain Dealer Open blog has a post on the polling and someone named Seth Bringman from the Ohio Democratic Party had this beauty in response:
Seth Bringman, spokesman for the Ohio Democratic Party, shrugged off the poll results, noting that DeWine can’t even clear the field of all Republican challengers. “Maybe they polled execs on Wall Street,” he said.”Mike DeWine can’t even win support from the base of his own party. It’s no wonder he now has a primary opponent, despite his second cousin’s best attempt to clear the field for him.”
Yeah, I am sure just mentioning Wall Street magically makes the poll numbers unimportant or irrelevant. Just like saying Lehamn Brothers ritualistically has prevented John Kasich from leading Ted Strickland and constantly mentioning George W. Bush has prevented Rob Portman from leading Lee Fisher and Jennifer Brunner. Wait …
Notice too how he offers opinion that is in fact contradicted by the poll numbers. The crosstabs indicate that DeWine is winning “Strong GOP” 90-3 while Cordray is winning “Strong Dem” 80-10.
So contrary to Mr. Bringman, DeWine is winning his base better than Cordray.
I thought Democrats were supposed to be the reality based community …
